Dynamic Viewing | ||
Dynamic View is a group of functions that work in your 3-button mouse to dynamically pan, zoom and rotate your part, sketch or drawing sheet. Dynamic View is transparent so it can be used at any time without interrupting the active command. Refer to the topics below for information about each function and how they are used for dynamic viewing.
In this Article:Dynamic Pan+ Drag
Relocates the current view.The current zoom and rotation are not changed. Move the cursor to the start point, press and hold the middle mouse button, and drag the view to a new location.
Dynamic Zoom+ Roll
Zooms in or out on the current view about the point on the screen where the middle mouse button is rolling.The current pan and rotation are not changed. Roll the middle mouse button up to zoom out or down to zoom in.
Dynamic Rotate+ Drag
Rotates the current view. The current pan and zoom are not changed. Press and hold the right mouse button (not on a entity) and drag in a circular motion to rotate the view about the current View Origin, View Axis or Display Axis, which ever is currently active (see below). If pressing and holding the right mouse button on a entity, a temporary origin will be created on the entity automatically.
View Origin (Ctrl+1)View > Set Origin Sets a new view origin. Dynamic Rotate uses the view origin as a base point for rotations. The default view origin is the world origin. Select a point to set the view origin. Once set, you can press the F2 key to activate Dynamic Rotate about the view origin.
View Axis (F3)View > Set Axis Sets a new view axis. Dynamic Rotate uses the view axis as a base line for rotations. The default view axis is the world Z axis. Select an axis (or direction) to set the view axis. Once set, you can press the F3 key to activate Dynamic Rotate about the view axis.
Display Axis (F4)An imaginary axis extending perpendicular to and at the center of the current modeling window. The display axis cannot be changed. Press the F4 key to activate Dynamic Rotate about the display axis.
NotesUse the "Dynamic view sensitivity" setting from the Display tab of the ZW3D Configuration Form to control how sensitive the mouse is to Dynamic Zoom and Dynamic Rotation. This setting determines when (and thus how often) the redraw of the view is interrupted by mouse movement.
